Whitehead off. Nominal Fee.

Danny Whitehead has left County to join West Ham United for ' a nominal fee'. Whitehead was under contract until the end of this coming season and so County have secured some money for the 19 year old.

A great opportunity for Danny and I am sure all County fans will wish him well. A fantastic chance for the lad to forge a great career as a professional footballer.

Danny's season for County last year saw 5 goals from 15 games. I always reckoned he would do well at County but given the rumoured state of the clubs finances, any money for the player would see him leave.

I just hope we got a 5 figure sum but more importantly a sell-on clause and appearances clause. Surely our CEO would have negotiated that?

So, a few more quid in the till which may keep the wolf from the door for a while longer.

I would expect some new signings this week or next. Our first friendly is not too far off and an empty subs bench is not a clever idea!

(for those of us who stood on the terraces in the 80's this ditty still seems fresh. Oh, and apparently you can login with your social network account now if you wish to contribute to the site)

I heard 30K and a large % sell on clause. It's looking all the more important that we sign some wingers as I also hear that Collins is not coming back, not bothered as I only want players who will put the Club First and willing to die for the cause. Good Luck Danny.

We are going to see a different County this season for sure. Good luck Danny and thanks for the 30K you Hammers. Another few players in with the never-say-die attitude and we will be a force in the Blue Square North.

Yet another County boy will play for a "Greedy League" team, that must be a full team full now in the last few years. Big pity we can't hold on to them.
