Southport switched to Saturday

Southport switched to Saturday

As we earlier speculated, the Blue Square Premier game between Stockport County and Southport will indeed take place on Saturday 1st December.

This is subject to league approval but there is no reason as to why they wouldn't approve this with both sides free to play on the Saturday.

Southport had been trying to get a home game on the Friday night, with Lincoln through to the next round of the FA Cup, as the Friday night game was televised - but this can't be arranged as County have already visited Southport this season.

It's good news that County now have a Saturday league fixture at home this side of Christmas!

More chance of a better attendance as I'm sure the Southport guys will bring a good few across the marshes. We don't have a home game then till boxing day against Hyde? should be another good turnout for that one as well.
